My nine months as a Fulbright student researcher in Uttarakhand, India. My research is still being shaped, but I will be interviewing women about medicinal plant usage and hospital-based care in the rural Himalayas. My field sites will be in the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve (home to the highest point in India.) I hope this study will inform not-for-profits, advocates, and policy-makers about women's health and health care-seeking behavior in this under-served region.
Hi Erica, Thanks for posting on your blog. We really are enjoying reading about your India experiences. The pictures are great. I can't believe you are speaking Hindu, good for you. It must be hard to learn to speak it in such a short length of time, The apartment looks lovely and the pictures you posted show what a beautiful area it is. I am so glad you have good people around you. I know you will do good work on your project. We are so very proud of you! Take care of yourself please and enjoy the experience. I am looking forward to the next post. Love, Grandma
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I love the view of your toes as you go down the spiral stairs. Everything looks so bright a colorful. I am sorry about the cheese though, that is a very sad picture. Hang in there, help is on the way. More than that, I won't say. Take pictures of everything you look at and edit them later, you won't be sorry to have the memories later.

I must agree with your mom about the cheese... It's not quite the same as the bags full of cheese she would send home with me when I would visit your place. lol But great pictures!! In the one of your feet, you appear to be especially tall. ;) Erica, I miss you!
